Who is your "inner artist self" — and what's holding her back?
Using freewriting and psychotherapeutic principles, I'll guide you through an exploratory exercise to clarify your creative identity and surface any subconscious blocks. You'll leave with greater confidence to start making art, in any medium you choose.
Sessions take place in a location of your choice — a quiet café, or outdoors.
How do you keep a fresh flow of ideas — every single day?
This session combines reflective journaling with a visit to an outdoor location, where we’ll learn techniques for drawing real inspiration from the world around us: structured, but playful. You'll leave with a personal practice to keep your creative well from running dry.
Involves gentle walking. Location chosen together — past examples include the National Museum of Scotland, a street market, and the Royal Botanic Garden.
Want to see what life as a working artist actually looks like?
I'll arrange a private studio visit and Q&A session with a professional female artist in any creative genre you choose — plus hands-on activities and reflection exercises to help you make the most of it.
Choose a 3-session package for a 10% discount. Some clients go deep with one mentor; others use the sessions to explore several disciplines.

Client Journey: Alina
The Challenge
Alina works in a corporate role but hopes to eventually pivot towards visual art. She signed up for a mini-mentorship session to gain clarity on what that transition could look like and how she might begin preparing for it.
The Intervention
After learning about Alina’s aspirations and background, I matched her with Kelly, an Edinburgh-based illustrator whose own journey from programming to a creative career mirrored the transition Alina was considering.
What Happened During the Session
Alina and I began the afternoon by setting intentions and journaling over coffee, creating space to articulate where she was and what she hoped to move towards.
At Kelly’s light-filled studio, she saw works in progress, sketchbooks and art materials, gaining an intimate look into the everyday reality of a working illustrator.
Kelly shared how her artistic style evolved over time and mapped out the twists and turns of her career. They discussed everything from finding a creative voice to making the first steps towards selling work.
Alina also experimented with Kelly’s materials through some hands-on doodling, making the experience practical rather than purely conversational.
Outcome
By the end of the session, Alina had greater clarity on where she was in her journey, a more tangible picture of what a creative career could look like, and renewed confidence to take her first steps.
What Alina Said
"Shze-Hui is brilliant and has a great way with people. She made me feel at ease from the beginning, which made it easy to talk openly about my challenges. She helped me assess where I was in my journey, get clarity on where I wanted to be, and clear the mental blocks that were holding me back.
Furthermore, she connected me with one of the accomplished illustrators within her network whose journey started just like mine. The session was very thorough and insightful. At the end, I felt inspired and excited to start working towards my own creative business."
